I DID IT!

its possible, who would have thought? i went an entire month (Jan) with no sugar OR white flour! Yes me, the girl who practically eats a dessert a day, if not one per meal! It wasn't even that bad?! On Feb 1st i made some cookies and Carmel corn and ate tortilla chips (which isn't really flour but i hadn't had any for a month) but they weren't even that good! I am going back on no sugar for the rest of the month, I took a Superbowl Break. Instead of eating what i crave, i buy it and save it ( I have about 6, OK 7 cartons of Ice cream in the freezer, not to mention the 2 vanillas in the other freezer, i didn't know i liked ice cream so much?) or I give it to the kids to get rid of the temptation. I Also completed 30 days of P90x! 60 left but hey its a start! I lost 9 lbs!? wahoo! we'll see if I can keep it off and keep healthy eating on! Yes I am tooting my own horn because i can't believe i really did it!
By the way, i have yet to open or eat any of those ice creams!

Breakfast time!

Yes I know healthy. Who doesnt like to eat cheese and Crackers for breakfast?

Dad goes to Mexico

Shaun is scowling because he doesn't like to leave us.

Shaun is off to Mexico this week. we will miss him but he will be back soon! Last night the girls took his spot up in the bed.. not my best nights rest! they were extra cuddly! They wanted me in the middle and they both had an arm around me somewhere or a leg. If i moved they knew it and would find me and say "i love you mamma" snuggle in really close and go back to sleep. Really cute yes, comfortable NO!

Just call me domesitc!

Kailey posing with her new "sleeping bag" and blanket

Seeing as I have been up since 6 this morning i feel quite productive. I have decided i want a change and went looking for fabrics to re-upholster my cushions/ottoman. while out I decided i better get my sewing machine fixed. so as i put it in the car the case broke and it fell on the ground and cracked.. yeah NOT COOL! so i went to 4 different places and the price to "tune-up/ realign my machine was 69-89. I came to the conclusions I can buy a cheap-o one for that price and will wait. i get home and think "well, might as well try it before i toss it out" and poof, the sewing machine worked! i hurriedly took advantage and finished Kailey's blanket that I bought material for oh a year ago? I'm amazing, who would have thought dropping your sewing machine actually fixes it?

ceral anyone?

I know, i cant believe it either!
so it Albertsons and Allens Cereal sale so I headed out last night about 11pm to hit albertsons and had to take Shaun to work this am at 7:30 so i went to Walmart (with all 3 kids) and priced match 45 boxes of cereal. 4 cans of almonds (1.85) , 10 things of oatmeal, 2 gallons of milk and rice cakes (not shown) so i think i'm stocked up! all for the grand total of 75 buckaroonies! i think its a good deal! especially the way Kailey eats Captain Crunch!
if anyone wants in on the fun either go to an associated food store (reams, allens) or price match at walmart quaker cereal/oats= 1.40
General mills=1.50 Kellogs 1.75 (for the medium boxes) Post: $2 (13-18 oz) i was pretty excited!

just call us crazy!

I thought it would be a fun idea to take the kids to the Draper Temple open house, and why not go with their favorite cousin right?
Reservations in hand running late for our 6:00 spot we barely made it to the blue lot where we would watch a video and be bussed up to the temple. about 7:30 we finally boarded the bus. so 4 adults and 7 kids in tote (all 5 and under) headed up in a bus. we walked through the temple, or more were herded through and at as we approached the stair i asked if there was room in the elevator for us. He said yes, saving us about 30 min of walking up the stairs. (IT WAS PACKED!!!) Kailey and Spencer walked around with their brochures finding the rooms and Kailey wanted to know what each sign said. then we waited another 30 min or so to bored the bus back to our car about 9 we arrived at the chapel for some cookies (which i was unable to eat because i am not eating sugar or white flour OR eating 3 hrs before bed) we headed home! Kailey was fast asleep by the time we hit point of the mountain and carter decided maybe it is sleep time after all ( a good hour of crying while waiting for the bus)
In truth it was fun and I think the kids loved it( being with cousin is great!) Mike and Shaun could have done without, but that's them. So it took 5 hrs? 5 hours of FUN!!!
trying to get 3 kids smiling and all us looking at the camera: impossible doesnt shaun look so excited to be there?
Dad holding Carter: priceless!
And Happy birthday to Andy and Kevin!

Points

So Kailey had been earning points for the toys above the fridge. She gets points for buckling her seat belt, getting me wipes or diapers and throwing things away, making her bed, wiping her bottom, cleaning her room etc.... 20 pts earns a toy.
Everyday she goes poop and says "mom i get a point"
Today i was going to the bathroom and joking said, "do i get a point?" she replies "no you're a grown-up you don't get points because you don't like toys" (in a way this is true, i HATE her little toys all over the house but who doesn't like a boat, that's a toy!!!??) so i ask "what do grown-ups like" "um... their kids" "yeah i guess that's true anything else?" "they like doing things they need to do" sad but true!
new goal 2009 for all adults out there! A new point system! every time you go to the bathroom and wipe you get a point, for buckling, cleaning up, making the bed, points points points!! when you get we'll say 150 points you get a prize, and it will be something wanted not need!! the trick will be keeping count!

There once was a girl who tried to change her background, she didnt know HTML and now doesnt know what to do... HELP! (i dont want everything erased)

P90X?

Yes. we have had this program a few months now and officially started it mon! bringing in the new year with P90X
Each night we have a different child who "can't sleep" and come down to watch their mom and dad looks silly doing ridiculous amounts of crazy exercises! and look very awkward in the process. Jordan joined in with me last night. Shaun was "sick" with a migraine (he really was but still wusing out on day 4? come on!!)

Thursday was 1 1/2 hrs of YOGA! you can see the joy in Jordan's face
towards the end she wanted to do it sitting in my lap, i didn't mind the interruption. I can barely touch my toes anyway?
wish us luck! 85 more days!

let it snow

It hasnt stopped snowing in 24 hrs. i dont think we will be going on a picinic or riding a bike for awhileKailey and Jordan got ahold of the camera and took a few candids. Here is Jordan cheesin it up for Kailey

the next big project!

yeah i know we are crazy but when we have nothing to do we create projects, i know our house was new and really needs no work, but Shaun got curious and decided to cut a hole in the downstairs closet "just to see what was under there" (notice the size of the hole HUGE) Carter decided to take after his dad and get curios and go under. he will be our Harry Potter who lives under the stairs and through the coat closet. There is a decent amount of space so Shaun is making the kids a "fort under the stairs"

Well its done! viola! it only took 12 months but in real time it would have been done in about 5-7 days (NOT A JOKE!) i love the desk, it is so nice to have it downstairs!!!! he did a REALLY good job! i guess the time paid off

Standing on his head

Carter just wants to be big like his sisters, and what better way to use your head?

Happy New Years!!!

2008 is over! i swear the first half went totally slow (i was pregnant) and come June it all flew by, i was so sad to see summer leave but it already feels like I can look forward to Spring and Summer Again! CRAZY... it was a fun year we did lots (as you can see from previous posts) and i will be back posting in the new future. I decided that as much as i hate Utah i also love it. yes the cold sucks, especially after spending in California where we had beach weather the entire time and no shoes were necessary then driving home and seeing a record low of 1 degree on our car thermometer in Fillmore (glad i don't live in THAT part of Utah) anyway once you get re-adjusted to the cold, dreary clouds and grey skies, wearing a sweater inside your house because you are too cheap to turn on the heat, skidding on ice that is in my driveway, as well as getting stuck in a parking lot because it was icy even with 4-wheel drive, Utah isn't that bad. I love seeing the totally awesome cows that live on my street and the mountains in our backyard, the park across the street (too cold to play at, but nice to walk around) the truckers who park on the street at our exit, and the cold crisp air. some days i think i wouldn't mind living here for a long time and today was one of those days! Happy New Years!
