All kinds of fun

I really can't believe 10 days went by so fast, but then I have been trying to post on Wednesday and last Wednesday I was busy... My and 4 other neighbors on the street headed up to Charlotte, NC to go see a concert. best. idea.ever. We left mid day, ate dinner. and saw Maroon 5, and Kelly Clarkson play. it was so much fun. here are a few photos at the concert. Kailey asked what I did and I showed her my little punk rock fist in the air action and she rolled her eyes and said "mom, so embarrassing" if only she would have seen me. Love their music, what can i say, this girls likes to dance! I also told her when she is 14, i'll take her to a concert, but she can't be embarrassed. Let's hope by then she will still want to be seen in public with me. I'll be like... 36, crazy!

The BPC as we are known aka Bristle Pine Court. Its nice to hang out with neighbors outside the cul de sac. Apparently my legs were thirsty?... i thought it was a head shot. nope. body shot. note to self: put things in hands, on the floor.
our "VIP" tickets, or something that looked that VIP tickets but really was a car brochure...
Had to throw this one in for posterity. This is lead singer in Maroon 5, Adam Levine, your mom was cool at one point, Shaun said he couldn't believe I paid to "gawk" at a singer.. now, honestly, what's there to gawk about?
After our little adventure we stayed the night at Lexy's house. I got to see Piper, she was sleeping, but it was the first time I actually felt inclined to hold someone else's baby. weird!? I wish they lived closer, but for now, 4 hrs at a time is better than the 0 I spend with my family. We hit the road at 7am to get back to life with about 4 hrs of sleep under our belts. self inflicted sleep deprivation. We are already thinking of who we will see next!
The week to follow had several pool days. Ellie and I went, Me Ellie and Decker went. Shaun joined us one day. Saturday Shaun took Kailey and Jordan to Percy Jackson:Sea of Monsters while i took the youngins' to the pool. After I got in a mommy date with Carter man and cleaned the church shopped a bit and of course got TCBY
He is one cute kid. I am pretty sure at LEAST once a week someone tells me how sweet, well behaved, or smile he is. I'm pretty lucky!
Then there is Ellie. She pretty much gets 1:1 time with me all day, Decker is around but also sleeps. She is my little other half. Talks my ear off and is so funny! a few of her stories this past week:
(it was lightning and thundering hard)
"mom, good thing we made our house"
"why? we didn't make it."
"so it can be strong and not break with the funder"
"oh yeah good point, its strong but.. I don't know who made it."
"mom. who made it?"...."teeellll me...." (in a your keeping something me voice)
me laughing "I really don't know, maybe dad does..."
"mooom.... tell me...." (luckily Shaun knew)

She also told me "yesterday(which pretty much means anytime in the past) my poop was brown and green, it was SO cool" -sweet thanks for sharing....

I have also discovered she has a crush on Jake.. from "one Direction" (there is no Jake in 1 direction)
the last few days she asked to play with Jake, "can i play with Jake, "Jake is my boyfriend" "I want to kiss Jake"
I figured she was talking about the 3 year old Jake on our street, that she has never played with but, i'm good friends with her mom so i though, cool, we can make this work! i drove by to arrange a play date and Ellie goes, in a very disappointing sad voice "Nooo, not little Jake, BIG Jake." at this point i'm thinking.. Jacob? but no, she pulls out my phone and points to a band member in 1 direction "THIS JAKE, I want him to come over."  ... yeah sorry kid, not happening.

She is full of funniness, sweetness, cuddles, candy, and a whole lot of spunky

And to finish my week i thought i'd throw in a little this is what my life looks like... These are the kids buckets of clothes. they have already emptied 1 FULL bucket, and have 3 more loads to go... the left bucket is full of socks. I hate socks. if they want socks they must go fishing. ps. my dresser is almost ceiling high of Shaun and my clothes and towels and sheets and honestly, i do at least a load a day, this is just from the weekend... until next time...

Call me crazy

Just a side note. today I was straightening my hair and Ellie asked me to "straight" hers too. it went like this
"mom, will you straight my hair"
sure, let me finish mine, get in the sink
"ok, you really need to straight my hair. Its crazy, here's my number, call me maybe"

Also anytime you say I love it  she loudly sings in her best voice to match the song "I LOVE IT, I DON'T CARE, I scratched my car into a bridge, I LOVE IT" i can tell you one thing. I love this kid, who acts like a teenager!

A true Labor Day weekend

I started the morning off by making 3 dz cupcakes, a 4-layer cake, and a 2.5 layer cake, followed by 4 dz cookies. He was not pleased it was not for him.
The weekend started out with this lovely face, following me around all morning. Apparently it had been a long week of waking up at 7:00 am and he was not aware it was Friday.

After getting some baking on, I went for a bike ride on my totally awesome recumbent bike. The kids love to play on it, and although it takes up a good portion of my dining area, it has been used everyday (all 3 days I have owned it )
After making my delivers, and filling my orders, Shaun's AC in his car went out, the kids got home from school, i taught a little piano and decided to give up on cleaning and had a babysitter come so Shaun and I  could go out. (I bought a groupon about to expire. Well, we called to see about reservation and the place was now out of business.) Add it to the hectic crazy day that was already happening. perfect. But it worked out, we went to Shem Creek and walked the Pier for my first time, went to SALT on Sullivan's Island, and was home before the babysitting fees broke the bank. And Shaun promised to help me clean all weekend long!!!
Saturday my piano cancelled, After my morning run i took the older 3 kids and dropped Hunter off at doggy school for a month! AWESOME! lets home he comes back a new dog! Then since we were already up in Columbia I surprised the kids and we went to the zoo.
sitting in the botanical gardens. It was only 85!
playing house
sitting in the big chair...

 My little Mariachi Band
This was on the tram about 30 min in... they look hot and bored
After out fun day we went to Atlanta Bread and ate lunch before our drive home. i have some pretty good kids!!
the rest of the day, we cleaned. we cleaned the bedroom, did some laundry, cleaned the garage... Sunday came and we cleaned some more. Carpets, Bedrooms, bathrooms. Monday came and we did some more. Yard work, tile grout, more laundry, washing walls and more bedrooms. Needless to say.,after this "labor" day holiday I am ready for a break. Until next Saturday when we clean out the cupboards, and find more jobs needing to be done! But until then, its back to school! a week of soccer, piano, homework, and trying to maintain all the work we did!!! wishful thinking...
