the girls bathroom

im doing the easy rooms I know, but hanging pictures is like pulling teeth, you can only do so many in a night. so Here is the girls bathroom, Kailey picked the curtain and we had to match, pretty cute for them i think!

by the way this and my bathroom are the ONLY rooms painted. and they are both painted 2 different color tans in the same room... weird

Ellies Room

The ONE bonus of wallpaper, wallpaper means no hanging pictures, meaning it gets done faster. Hence: ellie's room is complete. The rooms are all a fairly good size, the wallpaper is girly so thats a bonus. also you like the new dresser we bought for her room? its huge, but that is goo because there is no other furniture in the room. I love it! (the polka dot blanket is taking the place of a changing pad until i find the one i used to have...) i'm hoping I can post a new room a day, we'll see. today we are hoping to go back to the beach :)

Kitchen/eating area

to the left is a walk through laundry room and the door leads to our garage, out the right door is our screened in back porch.

the table, missing a bench. through door is the family room.

i think these 2 rooms are done! whoo whoo!!! we are still missing the bench to our kitchen table but the 6 chairs are fine for now. no pictures can go up in here because the wallpaper is just that awesome! it reminds me of one of those 3D pictures where if you look hard enough you can find the hidden picture? only if you look hard enough you think, "it's not THAT bad" which it isn't, plenty of cabinet space, gaps in the wood got covered by rugs, and the new table is just amazing. I love it! thank you North Carolina THE ROOM STORE. I will update the pictures as a finish a room, so don't hold your breath. finished means pictures up and all. and getting Shaun to do that might be harder than you think!

Isle of Palms- Girls day

the waves were like 6 inches high, they laid in them and tumbled on their own, pretending it was waves. they searched for sea shells, it was so fun! the weather was perfect, it didnt even seem humid.

Kailey filling her buckets with 87 degree water
the girls LOVED the beach. Jordan played in the sand until she realized the water was the perfect temperature and shallow, then I couldnt get her out!

Shaun took Carter and went and picked up the rest of our furniture today so we had "girls day" we watched disnet clips on YouTube, went to the beach, got lunch, i got the new htc evoo, and then to walmart. It was Ellie's best day of her life thus far, the girl was amazing! awake and happy or sleeping! it was a really fun day, now to finish my house...

welcome to SC have some poison ivy!

This morning I sent kailey to school and I said, "Did you rub your face on your pillow? Its red?" no response. We walked to bus and off she went.
Jordan wakes up (from off our floor, she has a bad habit of "bad dreams" and sleeps on our floor) " Jordan’s face is red, not uncommon when you rub your face against carpet all night?
Next thing i know i get a phone call from my neighbor. “I just wanted to let you know Connor woke up with a weird rash on his face this and I just took him to the Dr. she saw and immediately said it was poison Ivy. And then it hit me, last night the kids were pulling the leaves off the tree while they were playing" (yes, i do things with my neighbors now, weird!)
she went on to describe what his rash looked like, describing exactly my children, apparently it’s not contagious, it’s the oil from the tree that you have to touch, not just a person with it. So we washed EVERYTHING! I mean everything! including the Big Dog. Me being the good mom I am sent my kids directly to bed instead of bathing them. Oops. So we were inducted to poison Ivy club. I do not recommend it.

the girls got lavender oil baths, its supossed to help, the bubbles were crazy in our jetted tub!!!

turns out we have it in front AND in back totally awesome!!!

I love you girl

Story #1 Kailey came home from school today and she told me some kid named London had a crush on her bff Baley. apparently the secret was out as he told her. i asked her what crush meant she said "it means you want them to be your girlfriend"
me: girlfriend whats that?
Kailey "its when people hold hands and when they are old they kiss"
what the!!!! how does she know this after 1 week of 1st grade! not cool

story#2 she also informed me that on the bus ride home some kid a row over was sitting behind Tillman (a boy in her class) kept leaning over to her saying "I love you girl" "i love you girl" she told me she kept saying "stop saying that" and Tillman took up in her defense. what is going on! should i be worried? i don't even know how to respond to these stories!!!!

officially updated!

its official, all my pictures are updated, I know backposting is lame but i do it for me not you the reader, sorry. I had a bunch more i could have posted but unfortunately I have other things to do which I am sucessfully avoiding today. Laundry smaundry!
A few things I am grateful for:
1. garmin- gotta gotta love a garmin! when i was trying to register Kailey i had to run all over and got lost about 3 times in one day. Shaun came home with a garmin (probably because I kept telling him we should have gotten Navigation in our car and he didn't think we'd need it. he may not but I DO!)
2. Huge Baths! every house we looked at have separate showers and bath tub. that's pretty cool especially when the bath tub is ginormous
3. neighbors: we loved our neighbors in Springville, but we've already gotten to know the ones here and they are so friendly and nice. there are so many kids Jordans age (one beside us, 2 across the street, one behind) and everyone is so friendly
4. Internet (not AT&T-whom i have, and they suck) but i rely on it A LOT and its so nice to have it back!
until next time. we are going BACK to North Carolina tomorrow, so I'm sure i will document that trip as well. maybe even take a picture or go to the beach who knows??

parking lot post

well, i am sitting in a parking lot in front of "Perk Up" just down the street from our house. AT&T is not being so good at hooking our Internet up! im amazed at how dependent we are on the internet! bills, blogs, banking, map quest! Internet is important! i haven't done anything in over a month!! i feel like I am flying blind hoping my automatic stuff is working. so far so good. anyway, just a warning. in the next week or so i will be posting LOTS of pictures, way back from Utah. that feels like FOREVER ago. last week could have possibly been the longest of my entire life!

A quick update: we arrived in Mt. Pleasant 2 weeks ago today. in that time we unloaded a truck, tried to unpack the house with 4 kids, Not easy. bought shaun a new car, he started work a few days after we got here. i registered kailey for school after a gazillion trips to her school, went to walmart at lease once a day. Kailey started school last Wednesday. her bus comes at 6:55am. then last friday we needed to buy back furniture that we sold in Utah and headed to North Carolina to visit my aunt Linda and cousin Lisa who took me around the good stores and we successfully bought more that we sold. now we are back in Mt pleasant. we have yet to go to the beach which is 15 min away, and Kailey is at school and me in the car with 3 kids. ellie just started crying, and Jordan and Carter are watching a movie. gotta love laptops and tv cars! so there, if you dont want to read the post i will be putting up there is our life in a nutshell.

Southern Hospitality

dinner with Lisa and Tyler and Linda without ANY kids!

they said they had big furniture stores in North Carolina, I didnt know they meant it literally!!!
we got some good stuff. good quality stuff for reasonable prices! when i take pictures of the house, i'll point out what was new! but a little heads up; we got: a headboard, chase lounge chair, nightstands, kitchen table, desk, and dresser for ellies room. we love it all, can't wait till we ar finally unpacked!!!! if that ever happens

The Other Carolina

The girls couldnt wait to see lexy!

Where is she???
Lexy lives in the nice part of the ghetto!

we needed furniture so we took off to "the furniture Capital" we headed up to Charlotte and got to visit Lexy who is about 3.5 hrs away. our rude hostess decided to be at the dollar store when we arrived! not visiting her again! jk. we stayed for about an hour and headed up to Kearnersville to stay with my aunt Linda and then to Raliegh to see my cousin Lisa. they showed us all around where the good spots are.

1st and 2nd day of first grade

1st day of school eating breakfast

2nd day of school, her first day riding the bus to school. super cute!

all day school?? she is so big! school started on the 18th, way to early! she starts at 7:40 and rides the bus at 6:55am. crazy, who is up at that time, or if they are I guarantee they don't want to be! crazy thing is its like 80 and humid already because it never lets up!!! she has certain colors she has to wear, solids: green, pink, blue, white and khaki. not cool especially since everything she owns has stripes, shapes of some kind, or a decal or jewels. basically she needed all new clothes. she comes at 3ish. she LOVES school, she made a best friend already named Baley, and talks about her non stop, she also talks about her friends Jordan and Ellie (not my children, the girls in her class) funny, strange coincidence! having her at school has changed the whole routine. bed time is super strict and the house is so quiet while shes gone. Jordan plays in her room carter naps from 12-3 and ellie sleeps off an on, its weird, is it bad I love it? she did tell me she wished school wasnt so long because she missed being at home and being with me and her siblings. thats a good thing. Other than the waking up at 6:30 school has been good, and helped me get a lot done!

Growing up too fast!

Ellie is getting so big, she has started smiling and talks to me its pretty funny because it is so obvious she is trying to talk. she tends to like me the best, but i mean i am a pretty good mom, haha. 4 is HARD!!! she is sleeping through the night (9-6am) and for the most part becomes a better, happier baby everyday. I'm a pretty lucky mom,

Home isnt Home without cookies

or without shaun holding ellie playing his phone while she screams at him

the first week seemed like a really long week! Shaun started work on the 12th and we bought him a car that night. an Acura TSX. i tried and tried to register Kailey but it took about 4 trips back and forth to finally get all the things I needed. Walmart became my second home, we had no food and hardly anything unpacked because we had no where to put the stuff we sold so much furniture. so week one... not so successful in unpacking. but we did manage to get a batch a home made cookies checked off our to do list. just no table to eat them on.
The house: so I am not posting pictures of the house for a few reasons. 1, i still have boxes EVERYWHERE, 2 the things out of boxes are mostly on the floor, nothing is on the white white walls, or the totally awesome wallpaper (see above photo of kitchen awesomeness) so i will get some up just not now

Are we there yet???

We made it! it took us 7 full day of driving but we made it! South Carolina here we some! happy places smiling faces! there seems to be a lot of SC pride, almost every car has the palmetto tree on their back windshield. the trees aren't as overwhelming as i thought in may. the rives and creeks are beautiful, we'll see what the future holds.

New Orleans/Houma

Jenn, Bronson, Scottie, Greg, Ellie and Shaun

It sure was pretty out on the swamp, but HOT!

Jordan LOVED Scottie. they got along great
Cafe Du Monde inside the Riverwalk. powerderd sugar was everywhere
Jordan didnt even know she was messy
I'm pretty sure no one has heard of Houma. its a little town about 45 min southwest of New Orleans, actually it wasn't that small. Our good friends Jenn and Greg Voisin moved there a few years back and honestly never thought we'd see them there. but i am so glad we got to stop along the way. we stayed 2 nights and it was a much needed too short trip. we went to dinner at a seafood place, i got a hamburger and Shaun tried fried shrimp and oysters. Greg's family owns a oyster farm so we got to see his plant and Shaun was brave enough to try raw oysters straight from the farm. then we did a swamp tour. I thought it was the most humid hot day ever! but that turned out to the be the next day when we went into New Orleans and it was 109 and like 100% humidity! talk about sweaty, it made me really nervous for South Carolina. Shaun went out on the Bayou on a oyster boat and since the cold raw oyster wasn't gross enough (think eating a slug) he ate one straight from the reef, he said it was warm and nasty. i can only imagine. GROSS!!! we got a babysitter one night and had a nice dinner and moviex2 and in the city we walked the French market and went along the River walk, ate some Beignets (spelling???) they were as good and messy as I remember and we saw the fragrance shop where I used to work. it was so fun! I think we will have to plan a real trip there instead of a drop by visit! thanks guys it was a blast!

All my ex's live in texas

so there isn't much in texas on the road, or we're bad parents. Kailey took this photo, she might be on the side of the freeway. It was 7am in the middle of nowhere in my defense.

Ryan with abby on the Left and Ellie asleep on the right
The kids loved playing at MaryAnnes house, she brought every toy possible to let them play while we ate the best ribs ever!!! Rudys is a reason to go to texas!

Ok not really, but i think that every time i say Texas. Day 3: we headed to Austin Texas. Amy and Ryan had a baby girl on the 2nd and we pulled up to the Howells house about 30 min before they came home from the hospital, i know we are so courteous! but it was so good to see them. Its funny how little we think Ellie is until you place her next to a newborn! Abigail was super cute! congrats Aimes

To the Bat Caves!

The road trip has begun! we stopped in Tuscon the first night and then woke up and headed to Carlsbad, NM to go see the flight of the Bats. We made it about 1 hr before they flew. It was pretty cool. Not as cool as I had imagined, you have to be completely silent before they leave their caves, which is literally impossible for Carter. there are hundreds of thousands of them that leave the cave at sunset. I didnt know bats were as small as your thumb and as long as both hands, thats pretty small, even if there are hundreds of thousands, but it was cool and the kids loved it. It was nice to break up the trip with places with things to see. It was too bad our hotel that night was DISGUSTING!!! i didnt want to take off my shoes, so we pulled in about 10, got minimal sleep and headed out asap! off to texas! miles and miles of texas!!!

Ellies and Finns Baby Blessing

Ellie before the big event

Jessie preparing for her own. she looks pretty good for 7 months along
the moms of babies in our family this year: Jessie is 7 months pregnant and me and Carrie, do we look like sisters?
Grandma and Grandpa Rasmussen holding the 2 Blessing kids Finn was 3 1/2 months and Ellie was almost 2. Finn seems a bit calmer than El
We were lucky enough to have grandpa Clyde there too, the benefit of having both sides of the family within an hour. Clyde has a magic tough in calming babies down, to bad he didn't live closer.
I like that they are looking into each others eyes. its right up there with my other favorite of them on a motorcycle riding piggy back, and holding hand at lake powell jumping off a cliff
She was definitely done taking pictures for the day.
Carries church started at 8, and we were coming from Glendale, so it was an early starting day. here is out bigger family, it seems to just keep growing! Ellie is super alert, but carter isn't to happy.
