It seems like lately we have done ABSOLUTELY NOTHING on the weekends, we have no projects, at least we pretend its too cold, and sometimes its nice to do nothing. This weekend was like the past 4, finding an activity other than TV watching to keep us busy. Carter at dinner! he's too cute to not post

project dinnertime
hey oh.. well Jessie and I started a blog, whoot whoot. we are doing a little project where we are trying to make the same meal miles apart. I'm sick of never know what to eat so this will help and be fun. plus we can try new things and see how they work. we are totally adventurous that way. if anyone has ideas on what to make send us comments on our new blog! and if you want to join in and cook with us that would be cool too.

A good Nights Rest...
Shaun put the girls to bed and this is what I found when I cam upstairs... They both went to sleep in the ball pit, but apparently it was uncomfortable so Jordan opted for the sleeping bag bed in our doorway...

Viva Las Vegas
this weekend was AWESOME! we decided to meet Jessie, Chris, and my mom and Dad in Vegas over the weekend. Kathy was lucky enough (and brave enough) to watch our kids while we went. we owe her big time. it was heaven. we didn't take a single picture while there. we had an awesome room at the JW Marriott and ate way too much food but apparently not enough to make us think twice about getting in swim suits and hanging out at the spa all day. we just hung out, ate, gambled a little. who knew I was such a good craps roller? we came away with a whole 20 bones! and yes, i even doubled my money in the slots! (i went from 1 dollar to 2! i did that 3x!) yes I know, i know, big spenders! Jacob spent the day with us too and came away with 5 extra bucks. just call us money makers! I forgot I had kids. we went to the movies, we ate at Claim Jumpers and then headed home Sunday afternoon. One more day would have been nice but I'll take what I can get. Last week was rough and the weekend was MUCH needed! Thanks Jessie and Chris for hooking us up it was fun to see you. I wish you lived closer.. maybe one day and now, back to life! babysitting, school, and cold weather! fun fun fun

Bad Parenting 101
well in case you were wondering, your kids need to floss their teeth even though they have large gaps in between each tooth. we learned that the hard way. apparently you also should take you child to the dentist after the first cry saying their tooth hurts. (rather than wait 6 months) and going to the dental college, doesn't count. apparently they aren't good enough. a. they can't really do anything because they aren't really supposed to work on children, especially if they are shy, and b. they aren't the best x=rayers in the world. no offence to the Provo dental college. they said she had a cavity where she didnt (apparently their x-ray was upside down) and they couldn't work on the one she was complaining about. that = waist of 75 bucks. you might as well just fork over the money up front! its gonna cost you anyway.
so today Shaun took Kailey to the pediatric dentist. her hurting tooth (which we thought would need a baby root canal) just needed an extraction ($125) then the other 2 cavities they found, need a pulpotomy (baby root canal) a crown and 1 is touching a second tooth so really its like 3 cavities ($595) luckily that is for another day. So she got her extraction and was going to stay home from school but changed her mind and decided she was fine enough to go. apparently good parents know that you should keep your child home when they get a tooth extracted. Callie= not good parent, I sent her to school. about an hour later i get a phone call from a crying 5 yr old who needs to come home because her tooth hurts. i guess i should have seen that coming. so Shaun comes to the rescue again and picks her up, takes her to go get a chocolate shake (shes on a pure liquid diet for 2 days) and off to walmart for Popsicles, yogurt drinks and other food she can eat (apparently the meat i gave her a few hours earlier was against the rules. But in my defense we had nothing and the kid said she was starving) so now she is home and seems fine. She learned how to milk it quick. when shaun picked her up he said "lets go get you a shake" and she says "what about a leapster game too?" (he gave in) and now that our freezer is stocked with Popsicles she came up to me with puppy dogs eyes and said "mom, i think i need a Popsicle" then tried to hide her grin. she's eating a push pop as i write. so the total bill of not taking your kid to the dentists is roughly ($775) if your kid knows how to play the sympathy card. I might save more money if i just let her stay home from school next time!
