Should I be worried?

This is an everyday occurrence in my house, if it isn't a headband, its a bracelet, or necklace, maybe putting a purse in his elbow crook and walking around. can we blame him? He's surrounded by 2 older sister and constantly with his mom.
Spring is here... I think. so this past Saturday we worked in the yard! it was SO nice. the weather was perfect. we spent about 4 hrs and enough money to save 10% at The Home Depot. we hopefully have everything we need to finish our yard. pipe to drain the wet spots, wood to make a planter for my garden, a BBQ for the much intended outdoor dinners, a lawn mower because our 7 yr old one finally gave out last year, wood to fix the swing set and a few other things. we worked from 9am until 9pm. no joke and really no rest! we got 2 truckloads of dirt, sand, and gravel and spent several hours shoveling and building. I am hoping that this Saturday will be just as nice (Shaun may hope differently) now that we got my garden 95% ready we just have to adjust our sprinklers, and plant the goods. I'm really excited to garden, Except for the fact I cant really bend down all that well. Hopefully Spring will kick winter out, but seeing as its supposed to snow tomorrow I'm a little hesitant.

The bead

i forgot to mention in my other posts. On our way down to California we stopped and saw Jacob and Deidre. we went to bed at midnight and woke up about 8. no sleep for any of us. so on the rest of the trip Jordan said "mom, I don't feel good" I told her it was probably because we didn't sleep, and because we didn't really eat anything. she replied "no, I think its the bead in my ear" I had NO idea what she was talking about and prodded her a bit.
"there's a bead in your ear?"
"yeah"
"when did you put it in there?"
"a long time ago"
"why did you do that, where did you get the bead?"
" From the pillow on your bed, i don't know, but I don't feel good" I figured it came from there, I have been catching her pull off all my embellishing beads from my pillows, so i changed the topic.
When we got to California I could obviously see the silver bead in her ear. Casey had a friend over who happened to be a nurse Practitioner we tried mineral oil, and opted to go swimming to see if it would shrink the swelling around it. That worked and with a little help from a flat tipped black head remover, the bead was free!!! the should Be tiny gold bead was now grey and covered in ear wax. as soon as it came out Jordan said "i can hear so much better, and it didn't even hurt" and off she went to play. She told my dad she was so glad the bead was out. i couldn't help but laugh. and I am SOO glad i didn't have to pay to see a Dr! thank you Casey's friend!

best buddies

Casey is living at home and Kevin and Jordan were insta friends. they played so well together. they are about 6 months apart and seemed inserperable. on the other hand he did NOT like Carter. it was fun for them to get to play with cousins while they were there. Kailey followed parker ( age 10) around. He was so nice to her. The 2 of them are so quiet they seem sneaky. if they both weren't so well behaved we might have worried, but we would find them reading or doing Parkers homework. not things I'm too worried about.

oh the beach

we went to california last week. Kailey didnt have school on thurs or friday so i took the kids and Shaun stayed in cold utah. The weather was PERFECT! we got in at 4:00 pm and it was 80 degrees! so off to the pool we went. HEAVEN. why can't I live there? we went swimming everyday at the pool, except the one day we went to the beach. It was 76 with a slight breeze and perfect. the water was cold but that didn't stop Jordan from tumbling herself in it. My parent came for a bit, and my sister who was in pants and a sweatshirt. what are they thinking? we were all in swim gear and the loved the sand! no offense to Utah, but California is so much better. beach, pools on every corner, the Corner bakery with the best monster cookies you will ever taste. We didn't make it to Disneyland, maybe next time. Kailey goes "mom, I can't believe we came all the way here and we aren't going to Disneyland" maybe next time? My parents have Star Jasmine planted all around our house and the smell is wonderful. I wish they grew in freezing temperatures. that is my favorite flower of all time. Clyde came and hung out with us for a day, we went swimming and BBqed outside. i'm sure i'm partial because i grew up there, and my family is there, and I don't go home enough, but I love it. especially when i hear it snowed while I was away and I was in shorts, t-shirts and flip flops.

What was I thinking?

Me and Jess before the race. so cute I know
well today was the Rex Lee 5k run. Jess was over the other day and said she was doing it so I decided to join her. I have done pretty well at running and this "shouldn't" be harder than what I normally do. well. I was wrong. I do usually run 3-5 miles a few times a week on my treadmill, in the warm. and not uphill, or downhill.
the results were fine, considering my condition I finished in about 38 min. it felt like a really unorganized race, especially the end they had no water and allowed you to have 1 granola bar.. just weird compared to the other ones I have done. anyway. uphill was fine (surprisingly) but downhill is hard with a 28 week pregnant belly bouncing! kinda bumbed the easy part of the run was the hardest for me. my calves were on fire, while also freezing from the cold dreary almost rainy weather. after downhill, i had pretty bad cramps and had to walk a bit, but I ended running so thats a plus. Shaun and the kids came, but they had no fun. it was so cold shaun took them to the car where they cried, (he complained and i told him welcome to my life!) I told him to come back around 30-45 min. he came at 39 and missed my grand finale. kinda made them coming pointless but what do you expect in cold?I'm glad I did it, but next pregnancy i might rethink it depending on the course and weather.

Going Private Sucks

To anyone who still reads this after having had to log on for the past few months... I am very sorry about that. Callie asked me if I had seen our blog lately and I told her no because I hate having to log in. I decided to take action and get rid of the "privateness" of the blog. To all of you random people who find this site by a random search.. Enjoy what you read.

Have a nice day...

A day without shaun

some reason Kailey likes to write on tissue? these say " i love mom and dad. i miss him because he is on a trip" we're working on b's and d's the next one says " why does he have to take a trip"

Carter enjoying the donughts.
We Might have overstayed our welcome. we stayed for like 45 min... what else did we have to do today?
when Shaun's gone a few things happen. A my shower and get ready meter goes out the window. as well as my "normal parenting habits" normally i make the kids have a bedtime, in their beds, normally i clean up right away after messes. normally i feed my children well balanced meals.. not when Shaun's away. mom is FUN! we go the library, mall and Costco at all hours of the day. today was a good example of my perfect parenting. we fell asleep last night about 10 in my bed reading. i stayed up till 11:30 finishing a book. we woke up at 7:30 and got ready for the dentist. the kids ate a frozen waffle and granola bar in the car. carter wore the clothes he slept in (and wore yesterday... i knew we were going to have to get up early so I opted out of PJ's for him) Kailey didn't even get a hair brush! my kids are awesome! so After the dentist. (Kailey had her root canal and ended up with a silver tooth. she cried, I cried it silver teeth in not a good thing !) we came home and I decided i don't want to hang out at home so we went to krispy kreme.. perfect example after the dentist, I know! so after that we went to Costco and bought bulbs for our flower garden, came home about 12 and nap time for all of us! Lunch was krispy kreme :)(Kailey and Jordan opted for quiet time) then we played with chalk, did some reading. Jordan fell asleep. I made dinner and we headed to home depot. normally i am home and not wanting to get out, but when Shaun's gone its boring here. Luckily he comes home tonight at midnight! so i was a fun day. might have eaten a dozen donuts between the 4 of us? now I have to shower. do the dishes and clean. my kids are bathing as I write this. Jordan is throwing toys against the wall. Carter is crying because he is afraid and Kailey is protecting him.. I am intermediately telling them to knock it off...until next time!

All grown up!!!

Kailey is getting so big! everyday it amazes me at how smart and big and helpful and happy and BIG she is! kinda sad if you want the truth. She is my biggest helper. I definitely love all my kids the same but something about this one just make me feel like she's like me.. is that weird? i feel like we understand each other. She tells me when she is "going to have a fit" and we talk through it. if we miscommunicate (like we did on Sunday.. she was helping carter get out of the car by pulling him and he was crying.. not helping in my mind, but she was trying to help so i should have seen that, we had a long talk and decided to work on communicating and understanding each other.. I'm serious this kid is a smart one!!) last night with Shaun out of town (she gets to sleep in my bed with Jordan) and we both were reading to ourselves. she zipped through several pony books and was whisper reading to herself. it was so funny and cute to hear her read about "daisy Jo and how she Cheerily thanks the pony friends for her scrapbook" she is a really good reader! Today I snuck up on her and snapped a few pictures of her reading. she didn't even know i took them! i love the belly and feet up, and the hands under the chin. she is one smart kid and I am so lucky to have her!!!! sometimes I feel bad for the oldest child because they are held to such higher standards but she handles it well and we both are learning from each other... we talk about this nightly in our daily recaps before bed.
