Baking Buddies

Tonight Shaun worked late so I tried to keep Carter up... we made cookies. He was so cute. I gave him the job of putting the butter in the bowl and he got to put his hand on the Kitchen aid while it turned. he LOVED it. the kid giggled and looked at me with eyes in wonder. he was loving it. he kept saying "cool" then laughing uncontrollably. surprisingly for as big as a stinker he has become he is a pretty good listener. he only tried to put his hand in the mixer once, and every time i said. "if you get on the counter you have to go to bed" (giving him the all knowing mother eye) he would get back down on his knees and put his hand on the mixer. (and laugh of course)
The Condie family Rule: The girls have come to the conclusion that every night after dinner=desserts. i have NO idea where this came from?! lately since being pregnant i can't eat past 7. I get sick, i also get sick with milk and ice cream and some dairy... really weird, but since this new sick habit, i rarely make dessert at night (i make day desserts). anyway, the other day after having made Kailey brownies on request for her after school snack we ate dinner and she said "OK mom, lets have dessert!" i replied, "Kailey we had brownies after school, we already had a dessert today." "mom, that was a dessert! dessert is after dinner at night time!" I didn't know this was a rule!? did anyone else out there? I think my kids may have picked up my sweet tooth?
ps: look for the cookie recipe this weekend on the food blog I do with my sister and sister-in law! they were delicious!

That is the cutest picture ever! He was so happy, wasn't he!!!

My kids feel dessert is a necessity too. Their dad is an ice cream freak which doesn't help the situation. Luckily, I don't like ice cream so that habit isn't too dangerous for me. :0)
